TECHNOLOGY OF THE MODERN RAILWAY
Railways today are very much the focus of critical public interest. Is the railway age coming to an end? What should be the role of technology in the present situation of the German Federal Railway? What solutions can technology offer now and in the future? The author seeks to answer these questions in respect to track, vehicles, energy and information technology. Future development and research projects are examined, and the need for co-operation on a European level is emphasized.
