TESTING A 6 KV D.C. ELECTRIC TRAIN
ISPYTANIJA ELEKTROPOEZDA POSTOJANNOGO TOKA 6 KV
One of the means of improving the technico-economic efficiency of d.c. electric traction is to increase voltage in the catenary to 6 kV, and use thyristor converters with impulse regulation of the output voltage in the rolling stock. At the test loop of the Research Institute of the USSR Ministry of Communications, tests on energy and traction were carried out with an ER2V electric train designed for 6 and 3 kV voltage in the catenary, and with impulse frequency regulation.
