RELIABILITY OF STRUCTURAL SYSTEM UNDER HAZARD ACTION
A loading roughness index is introduced to describe the relative comparison between load effects and structural resistance. A conclusion has been drawn that hazard action can be treated as an infinite rough load according to its stochastic character. On the basis of this conclusion, reliability of structural systems can be approximately determined by the weakest failure path in the failure graph. How to search the weakest failure path is also presented.
