EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON EMULSIONS IN HIGH POWER MEDIUM- SPEED AND HIGH-SPEED SINGLE CYLINDER DIESELS

The fuel saving effects of emulsions in diesels is discussed. Test results of emulsions obtained in high power medium-speed and high-speed single cylinder diesels are given. Many of the tests were carried out using emulsions in high power medium-speed and high- speed single cylinder diesels. The fuel savings are proven. The maximum average saving of 3.46% may be achieved by using emulsified fuels in a high power medium-speed single cylinder diesel of model 280. The maximum decrement of exhaust gas temperature was 50oC. The variation of explosive pressure is not distinct. In a high power high-speed single cylinder diesel of model 200 the maximum average saving of 2.28% was recorded. The exhaust temperature lowers 40OC. Maximum increment of explosive pressure of the order of 1.5% was achieved.
