DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS FOR STAINLESS STEEL FABRICATIONS
Stainless steels are a range of alloys containing more than 10% chromium. These materials are a cost effective solution for operation in many corrosive environments. They achieve their corrosion resistance by the production of a chromium rich, tenacious, passive film upon exposure to air. In this article the author describes some of the design considerations for fabrications in these materials.
