FIRST FRENCH-BUILT OPV OF A MOROCCAN QUARTET DELIVERED
RAIS BARGACH, the leadship of a series of four 64m offshore patrol vessels on order for the Royal Moroccan Navy was launched from the new Lorient (Le Rohu) yard of Leroux & Lodz Naval in France in October 1995. The vessel is designed to have the capability to carry out the multi-operations of EEZ general intervention and surveillance including rescue, salvage, anti-pollution and firefighting. The vessel is able to mount up to a 76mm gun as well as SSM/SAM systems.
