SEA METHOD IN NOISE CONTROL
Numerical methods for calculating the properties of structural acoustic systems have been developed to be used in noise abatement work. These methods include the finite element method and the boundary element method which are mainly used at discrete low frequencies. High-frequency problems are usually posed differently. The desired results are stated in the form of frequency and space averages which are more useful than local or single frequency results. The Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) method can be used at high frequencies. In this paper some basic features of an SEA method and the SEA program package developed for noise control work are presented.
