Examples are provided by seven case studies, each representing a different segment of the distribution industry, including light and heavy goods vehicle manufacturers, a distribution and lorry park, a provider of postal services and a leading trade association. A comprehensive collection of references, from governmental departments, manufacturers, operators, professional and trade bodies and pressure groups is included. Topics covered include environmental impact, UK and European Union legislation and policy, new road construction, road freight transport and fuels. Much of the literature has previously been known by, or available to, limited number of people.
