PROJECT EQUITY CAN BE ULTIMATE BIG DEAL MAKER
A growing trend in the construction industry is to take an equity position in new projects. Corporations are finding that project financing, while risky, can have significant investment returns. Equity participation is is not for everyone; in fact, only a handful of companies can afford to embrace the concept for the investment opportunity. More often, a contractor takes a small stake in projects to get the construction work. This article highlights some of the projects and corporations that are shaping the equity participation market. Infrastructure projects, such as toll roads, have had a rocky history in terms of project financing, but corporations continue to invest.
