SMOOTH SAILING...TTI HELPS IMPLEMENT TXDOT'S ROADWAY SMOOTHNESS SPECIFICATION
Smooth highways lead to roads that last longer, a better ride quality, and lower user costs. This brief article reports on how the Texas Transportation Institute is helping to implement the Texas Department of Transportation road smoothness specification. Part of the TTI project involves evaluating automated models that are used for acceptance testing of the final pavement surface based on profilograph data.
