PRINCIPLES OF ESTABLISHING BITUMINOUS PAVEMENT DESIGN CATALOGUES OVERVIEW OF DEVELOPMENTS IN OECD COUNTRIES
In this paper a short overview is given with respect to developments in OECD countries on the development of bituminous pavement design catalogues. First, attention is paid to the main defects to take into account when designing bituminous pavements. Then a description of the mechanisms responsible for the various damage types that occur on bituminous pavements is given. Next, design principles are discussed and lastly discussion is provided on the usefulness of design catalogues. No attempt has been made to summarize in detail the developments in the OECD countries.
