ALLOWABLE BEARING CAPACITY OF ROCK FOUNDATIONS USING A NON-LINEAR FAILURE CRITERIUM
In this paper several charts for a simple application are proposed for different boundary conditions depending on slope inclinations, and particularly under the hypotheses of a strip load, horizontal foundation, no overburden pressure and no inclined loads. Typical values, deduced theoretically from mathematical analyses, of the ranges of safety factors to be used with this method are proposed for a failure probability less than 10 (super -4). Comparisons are made with code values and with the previous and generalized practice.
