LOGISTICS POLICIES FOR AN INBOUND MATERIAL COLLECTION SYSTEM
With the trend towards greater synergy between suppliers and industrial customers, most manufacturing enterprises are organize networks of manufacturing and distribution sites that purchase ra materials, transform those materials into intermediate and finish products, and distribute the finished goods to customers. Manage of such networks (also referred to as "supply chains") has recent emerged as a major topic in logistics management. Improving the effeciency of these systems requires striking a balance between t various logistical functions; in particular, inventory control an transportation planning need to be closely coordinated. This wor concerns the management of one segment of a supply chain by such integrated approach: decisions for both inventory and transportat functions are made simultaneously to achieve near-optimality of t whole system. the specific situation considered is that of a cen warehouse (where all stocks are kept) and several geographically dispersed suppliers.
