EVALUATION OF A NEW STRAIN MONITORING DEVICE
A new strain monitoring device is described. It avoids several problems with existing systems. Large amounts of data may be analysed in situ by means of a Rainflow algorithm. The system was used to monitor strains in primary (plates) and bracing members on one span of a CALTRANS 3 lane multispan, steel trapezoidal box girder with composite concrete deck.
