VISION OF THE FUTURE
This article looks at new methods which are being tested to aid incident detection in tunnels. According to a paper given recently on Incident Detection in Tunnels for ATMS, machine vision systems offer "immense cost, speed, and functional benefits in wide area traffic surveillance and detection for ATMS. Application of machine vision systems for incident detection in tunnels offers a new tool in advanced traffic management."
