BUILDING LNG TANKERS
This report relates to the process and present situation of development of LNG tanker building. To increase the level of shipbuilding technology, real tanks were mocked up, and in this process moot points regarding design and field fabrication were sought. Insulations and membrane materials were entirely new to conventional shipbuilding. In fabrication, efforts were made to accustom those concerned to the handling of new materials. Simultaneously, fabrication and quality standards were worked out to guarantee quality.
