CAN ECONOMICAL BRIDGE TESTING REDUCE POSTING?
Field testing that cuts strain data recording time in half and reduced costs let engineers economically determine the structural capabilities of a posted Delaware bridge. The field testing and subsequent rating of the three-span steel girder-and-slab bridge showed that although girders were only partially embedded in the slab, they acted compositely with the concrete slab, and that significant restraint was present at the bearing supports.
