WE HAVE NEVER DONE THAT BEFORE...BUT THE CINCINNATI METROPOLITAN AREA IS GOING TO DO IT ANYWAY

The Cincinnati Metropolitan Area is currently instrumenting 88 miles of interstate highway and freeways to integrate an interactive transportation management system. Once complete, this system will provide traveler information, increase mobility and improve air quality. Achieving this in a multi-state region has posed a number of institutional challenges involving agencies and companies that are not accustomed to working with each other. This paper will discuss these challenges, and the strategies to ensure that a valued project could be deployed on time and within budget.
