A SOCIOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE ON DIFFERENT STRATEGIES OF REWARD IN URBAN TRAFFIC LAW ENFORCEMENT
This paper aims at examining to what extent a rule-conform traffic behavior could be achieved by using strategies of reward and what kind of restrictions and problems have to be faced in practice. First the paper presents different concepts of reward being discussed in the international literature. Second, a sociological model based on concepts of the game theory is introduced to analyze the prospects of success of different strategies of reward. Lastly, the derived hypotheses are tested with the help of two different studies.
