DRINKING AND DRIVING IN HUNGARY
Driving after drinking is prohibited by severe regulations in Hungary. The Highway Code does not permit driving for persons who have alcohol in their body due to the consumption of alcoholic drinks. Of course not only the consumption of alcoholic drinks, but that of food with alcohol content is prohibited for drivers. The prohibition to consume alcohol applies to the drivers of every vehicle category, not only to motor vehicle drivers. According to the standards of the National Institute for Forensic Medicine, if the BAC doesn't exceed 0.2 percent, there is no evidence for alcohol consumption. So the limit above which the authorities postulate the consumption of alcohol is 0.2 percent.
