LIFE CYCLE STUDY ON PASSENGER TRANSPORT MODES; ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS OF PASSENGER TRANSPORT MODES

HENKILOLIIKENNEMUOTOJEN ELINKAARIANALYYTTINEN VERTAILU; HENKILOLIIKENNEMUOTOJEN ENERGIANKULUTUS JA YMPARISTOVAIKUTUKSET

In the study the energy consumption and environmental effects of different passenger transport modes are estimated. Energy consumption and environmental effects are evaluated during the production and distribution of fuel and during the end use in vehicle. In addition, the energy content of vehicles and the energy use of transportation infrastructure for each mode of transport is assessed. The combined effects of airborne emissions are evaluated by using environmental classification methods. The applied classification methods are toxicity, acidification potential, environmental load and global warming potential.
