CARMINAT: RESULTS OF A YEAR OF TESTS IN URBAN AND INTER-URBAN AREAS
CARMINAT is a real-time traffic information and guidance system that uses existing collected data on traffic and existing FM radio subcarriers for broadcasting with the objective of European standardization. Through three European pilot projects, CARMINAT partners and the French public authorities have tested the feasibility of launching a commercial traffic information service in France. A total of 340 terminals of four different types were tested by more than 2,000 potential clients. The results are presented in this paper.
