HOW TO PLAN SMALL BRIDGE REHABILITATION
Planning a county bridge rehabilitation program involves: Inspection of bridges within the county's jurisdiction to determine current functional and structural conditions. Analysis of the inspection data to determine rehabilitation needs and priorities and consideration of funding sources to assist in project selection and programming. Engineering analysis and design of selected projects. Consideration of such elements of the program as environmental and permit requirements, traffic control and detours, work zone safety, and contractual documents.
