ANALYSIS OF MECHANICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF ROAD PAVEMENT BASED ON VISCO-ELASTIC MULTILAYER HALF-SPACE
ANALIZA MEHANIICKIH OSOBINA KONSTRUKCIJA CESTOVNIH KOLNIKA KOJA SE TEMELJI NA TEORIJI VISKO-ELASTICNOG SLOJEVITOG POLUPROSTARA
In this article, basic mathematical equations are given which can be used to determine the mechanical characteristics of the multi-layered road pavement, and in particular the elastic and visco-elastic deformations. The deformation capabilities and the stress conditions of the road pavements under the effect of traffic load were analysed. This article contains a series of conclusions by which the principle of rational pavement design can be determined taking into account the visco-elastic phase of pavement behaviour, and also stresses the necessity of taking into account not only elastic but visco-elastic characteristics. /TRRL/
