THEORY AND PRACTICE OF THE SPACE OCCUPIED BY VEHICLES IN CURVES
TEORIA E REALITA DELL' INSCRIZIONE IN CURVA DEGLI AUTOVEICOLI
The Ecu viaduct is a continuous beam, prestressed reinforced space occupied by vehicles when negotiating curves. Of the Common Market countries only Germany has similar standards. Theoretical recommendations have evolved within the community to facilitate the free interchange of road vehicles. This paper shows that a purely theoretical treatment of the space occupied in curves cannot give the practical guarantees required for traffic safety, by analyses of the road- and lane-width occupation of cars, lorries and articulated vehicles. /TRRL/
