FORECASTING FUTURE VEHICULAR DENSITY BY MEANS OF LIMITED LOGIC EQUATIONS
PREVISIONE DELLA DENSITA VEICOLARE AVVENIRE MEDIANTE L'IMPIEGO DI EQUAZIONE LOGISTICO-LIMITATE
This article gives the results obtained by the use of limited-logic equations to determine the saturation limits of vehicular density in each region of Italy. Statistically analysed extrapolated values were used as a base for determining the other parameters of the limited-logic function used for forecasting the levels of motorization. The following limits (veh/1000 inhabitants) were obtained: northern Italy, between 436.23 (in Valle d'Aosta) and 345.72 (in Liguria); central Italy, between 385.75 (in Toscana) and 280.58 (in Abruzzo); southern Italy and the islands, between 304.96 (in Sicily) and 188.85 (in Basilicata). /TRRL/
