ANALYSIS OF CONTINUOUS BRIDGES, USING GENERALISED COMPUTER PROGRAMMES
Modern express highways and flyovers in highly developed urban areas often entail the construction of bridges of various shapes curved both horizontally and vertically. A curved continuous structure presents certain analytical difficulties if manual methods of calculation are employed for determining the shear force, bending moment and torsion. Such structures can be analysed successfully and accurately by using a generalised and already developed computer programme, the details of which are dealt with in the paper. The use of the generalised computer programme saves time and also results in an economic and accurate solution./Author/ /TRRL/
