IMPERVIOUS SURFACE REDUCTION STUDY. DRAFT REPORT

This study was conducted to identify possible strategies for impervious surface reduction in Olympia, the surrounding North Thurston County Urban Growth Management Area, and other locations. This draft report summarizes the results of the study to date, including involvement and education activities and a technical and policy analysis, and offers draft recommendations based on the work to date. The study consisted of three basic tasks: project management, involvement and education, and technical and policy analysis. Changes in attitudes, policies, and regulations are perhaps the greatest results of the study thus far. This draft report has been written with the assistance of steering and citizen advisory committees and has been submitted to a broad group of public and private sector stakeholders for review. Once review of this draft report is complete, the Ad Hoc Citizen Advisory Committee and project staff will develop a response to comments and revise the draft report. The revised report will be presented to Olympia City Council and Washington Department of Ecology for approval.
