CONCRETE PAVING BLOCKS FOR RESIDENTIAL ROADS
An assessment is made of the use of concrete paving blocks in the surfacing of lightly trafficked roads and information presented that is necessary when this type of of road finish is considered. Design considerations are discussed including choice of blocks, bond, labour, decorative features and drainage. The advantages of concrete blocks are listed and include their visual appeal, use on poor soil, choice of pattern, easy relaying and ease in following site contours. A draft specification is set out for concrete block road paving as guidance until a British standard is prepared. /TRRL/
