STABILITY THEORY AND ITS APPLICATIONS TO STRUCTURAL MECHANICS
The book integrates the modern work in structural stability theory, specifically the Koiter Postbuckling analyses, with mathematical notions of stability of motion. Thus for discrete and continuous systems, the minimum energy principles for static stability are grounded upon the dynamic concepts of stability of motion. Then the asymptotic buckling and postbuckling analyses are developed from the potential energy considerations. Applications are given to columns, plates, and arches. (A) /TRRL/
