EXCAVATION OF EARTHWORKS SLOPES BY PRESPLITTING
EXCAVACION DE TALUDES EN ROCA MEDIANTE PRECORTE
Presplitting results in improved stability and surface finish of the remaining rock wall. A study is made of blasting techniques, presplitting and its practical applications. Experimental results show that the quality of the rock which has not been excavated is a function of the spacing/stone relation e.g. Of two well defined parameters. An example of presplitting techniques is given: the construction of the pavement of the a.190 alicante-plage de La albufereta section, built on a rock mass the sides of which fall very sharply down to sea level. /TRRL/
