SURVEY OF SEAT BELT LATCHING MECHANISMS USED ON 1971-78 PASSENGER CARS. FINAL REPORT
Tests were performed to determine the vulnerability of the seat belt latching mechanisms on 1971-78 passenger cars to inadvertent unlatching when impacted on the back side opposite the push button. Of the 225 vehicle seat belt latching mechanisms tested, fifty units opened.
