THE NORTH DAKOTA ELEVATOR INDUSTRY AND RAIL CARRIERS' CUSTOMER SERVICE
The purpose of this study is to encourage competition among rail carriers by facilitating communications between North Dakota elevators and their rail carriers regarding customer service issues. By conveying marketing and customer service information for the four railroads, the competition for business originating from North Dakota elevators may be enhanced. Two primary sources of data for this study are 1. the North Dakota Public Service Commission grain movement database and 2. a 1995 survey of North Dakota elevator managers.
