THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE RAIL LIFT UNDULATING MOVEMENT
DIE BEDEUTUNG DER ABHEBEWELLE DER SCHIENE
Lateral track displacement which occurs at high temperatures can be traced to the area where the rail lift undulating movement occurs, i.e. in front of and behind the axle of a vehicle. The lift movement is significantly influenced by the type of vehicle involved and the track ballast coefficient. The author makes a theoretical analysis and shows that this undulating movement which can seriously affect the track bed and stress on the ballast can be reduced by increasing the weight of track panels.
