DESIGN OF SEDIMENT BASINS FOR CONSTRUCTION SITES
This paper presents design procedures and criteria for sediment basins, and a brief review of the field performance at several basins which were constructed in the Maryland Piedmont. Certain deficiencies in the design criteria adopted under the Maryland Sediment Control Act are noted. The design procedures and criteria in this paper will alleviate some of these deficiencies, and will better meet the objective of reduced stream sedimentation.
