DESIGN OF MOBILE BOUNDARY CHANNELS
A series of universal flow diagrams (U-F diagrams) have been prepared using dimensional analysis and regression techniques to show the inter-relationship of the discharge intensity, flow depth, bed material size and discharge and channel slope for mobile boundary channels. The diagrams cover 100 bed material grain size ranges from 0.1 mm to 40 mm with each diagram based on the analysis of thirteen hundred or more data items. Examples are given showing the use of the U-F diagrams for design and analysis of channel and river problems.
