BUCKLE PROPAGATION: STEADY-STATE FINITE-ELEMENT ANALYSIS. DISCUSSION AND CLOSURE
A discussion of a paper with the aforementioned by Nogueira and Tassoulas, published in this journal (Volume 120, Number 9, September 1994), is presented. Discusser Calladine comments on the difficulty of the authors' task and their ability in developing a finite-element method that considers the steady-state features of buckle propagation in pipelines. Calladine also refers to previous work conducted by Kamalarasa and Calladine (1989) that might provide various checks on the authors' work. Discussion is followed by closure from the authors.
