A HYBRID DRIVE LINE WITH ENERGY STORAGE INCORPORATING CONTINUOUS VARIABLE TRANSMISSION
Reduction of fuel consumption is getting more important due to the increase of emission and the decrease of world reserves of fossil fuel. Modern drive line technology can influence the fuel economy in a significant way. The contributions of CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) technology, electronic control and storage systems in hybrid drive lines are discussed. At optimal performance, a reduction in fuel consumption up to 40% can be expected. (A) For the covering abstract see IRRD 875003.
