DYNAMIC ROUTE GUIDANCE - A PRELIMINARY STUDY CONCERNING THE USE OF MODERN INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNIQUE
VAEGVALSSTYRNING - FOERSTUDIE AVSEENDE ANVAENDNING AV MODERN INFORMATIONS- OCH KOMMUNIKATIONSTEKNIK
The aim of this study is to investigate how modern technology (Road Traffic Informatics) could be used to enhance the routeing and safety of dangerous goods transport. It is argued that the risk at a certain place, when passed by a transport of dangerous goods, is not the same at every moment. If this is taken into account when selecting roads for dangerous goods vehicles, it should give better results than todays practice. The principles of dynamic routeing of dangerous goods are discussed and the needed and available technologies for implementing dynamic routeing are outlined, as are some other aspects of the implementation.
