A MODEL FOR SNCF TRAFFIC FORECASTS FOR THE PARIS SUBURBS

UN MODELE D'AFFECTATION POUR DES PREVISIONS DE TRAFIC SNCF DE LA BANLIEUE PARISIENNE

A mathematical model for a study of commuter traffic in the Paris area is outlined here. The model is applied on a repetitive basis with fixed values, e.g. behaviour of commuters, journey time, etc., and the level of saturation, and the various routes taken are adjusted according to expressions of quantity. The model takes account of geographical zones, the present situation and possible developments; it can be used for planning purposes (investments, preparation of transport plans).
