VEHICLE CLEARANCE INTERVALS - DEFENSE
As the result of a traffic accident that occurred at a signalized intersection, litigation was initiated and the Plaintiff held that the City was at fault for an inadequate clearance interval. This paper has been prepared from the viewpoint of a traffic engineer serving as an expert for the Defense. The facts of the case based upon the Traffic Accident Report prepared by the investigating police, intersection plan, signal timing chart, and physical conditions are described here.
