WHAT EVERY TRAFFIC ENGINEER SHOULD KNOW ABOUT COMMUNICATIONS
With the increasing emphasis on Intelligent Vehicle Highway Systems (IVHS), communications is playing an increasing role in the freeway and urban traffic management systems. This paper presents basic concepts to be used to define communications systems and to select an appropriate transmission media. Where appropriate, case studies are presented to support the concepts.
