PUBLIC ACCEPTANCE OF TRANSPORTATION POLICIES
DRAAGVLAK VOOR HET SVV-BELEID
To determine the public acceptance of the Dutch transportation policy two surveys have been carried out, in September 1992 and February 1994. The paper describes the background of these surveys and explains its main methodology. Results are presented as illustrations of the applied methodology. Background of the studies is the growing tendency in governmental policyto consider policy making as a matter of supply and demand. If the policy is not supported by public acceptance, realization and enforcement will behardly possible. (A) For the covering abstract of the report see IRRD 874607.
