DIFFERENTIATING USAGE-INDEPENDENT MOTOR VEHICLE TAXES ON THE BASIS OF NOX EMISSIONS
DIFFERENSIERING AV IKKE BRUKSAVHENGIGE KJOERETOEYAVGIFTER ETTER NOX- UTSLIPP
The future reduction of NOx emissions from the nation's stock of vehicles is estimated. Further reductions in emissions are calculated by using taxes as an instrument of change. Annual taxes differentiated according to NOx emissions for petrol-driven passengers cars with and without catalysors can e.g. reduce the above-mentioned emissions by a further 0.5-2.5 per cent. The estimates of the potential for reduced NOx emissions are most uncertain.(A)
