APPLICATION OF SURFACE VORTICITY DISTRIBUTION IN DESIGN OF DUCTED PROPELLERS
The authors present an algorithm of the design of ducted propellers. Three methods of flow modelling have been coupled: the lifting line model and airfoil is used in the design of an impeller blade, the vortex lattice model and surface vorticity distribution are applied in the calculation of the influence of the nozzle on the flow field in the propeller disk. The algorithm has been implemented in a computer program. Comparison of sample projects obtained with different assumptions relating to blade geometry is presented.
