DEVELOPMENT OF A SUITE OF PROGRAMMES FOR SHIP TENDERING

This paper covers the realization and use of a suite of generic computer programmes which cover all activities from the point of enquiry, through negotiation, detailed design, drawing development, procurement, construction and trials to the delivery of the ship. By manipulation of these programmes in commercially available PC based software, guesswork and an unrealistic ship programmes can be avoided, reducing the risks, which arise when a programme is produced late in the tender under sever time pressure.
