ERITREA TUG BUILT IN THE NETHERLANDS
The stern drive thruster tug ADULIS was built by Damen Shipyards of Gorinchem in the Netherlands for the Port Authority of Massawa in Eritrea. ADULIS is 25.86m long, powered by two Cummins engines totalling 1,402kW which, coupled to Aquamaster US901/2250 azimuth thruster, gave a trials performance of 23 tonnes bollard pull ahead, 22 tonnes astern and a free running speed of 11.5 knots. The tug is equipped for firefighting and salvage. The article includes a general arrangement plan.
