TANK COATING FOR CHEMICAL CARRIERS
Now on the market from America for marine use is a coating which claims to have greater resistance to chemicals than stainless steel. The coating is said to out perform epoxies and zinc silicates and is thus suitable for use in chemical carriers and product tankers. Applied as a two part coating the resin adheres strongly to steel work to produce an impermeable bond that is resistant to 98% of all corrosive acids, alkalis, solvents and fluids at various temperatures. The coating has a high resistance to impact, wear and abrasion.
