INFRARED TECHNOLOGY - HIGHLIGHTING FAULTS BEFORE THEY BECOME PROBLEMS

The non-contact temperature measurement technique, infrared thermography, is becoming increasingly popular as one of the most effective tools for monitoring the condition of onboard mechanical and electrical installations. The major advantage of the technique is that ships can be surveyed under normal operating conditions and, because thermal imaging cameras allow you to pan over large areas at a time, many installations can be inspected in one go. Any faulty connections are seen as hot spots in the camera's view finder.
