A TECHNICAL ANALYSIS OF THE STENA HSS
When the first example of the Stena HSS is delivered from its Finnish Builders later this year, it will represent a quantum jump in fast ferries. The 124m long and 40m beam vessel will be capable of carrying European highway trucks as well as smaller vehicles. For passengers the three main accommodation areas separated by service bays will offer a more flexible layout than a typical fast ferry. The article gives details of the structure, layout, propulsion system, docking and order for further HSS ferries. General arrangement drawings are given.
